MicroEarning/passive income

I have three apps on my phone that pay me when I drive or walk. Let’s get one thing straight right off the bat… the payouts are small. Still, though… I have to do next to nothing. So why not?

First up:

Miles. The miles app tracks your driving and public transit use, paying you 10 points for every trip you make. You can also play games in the app, watch videos (aka ads) or test your knowledge in their trivia section. Everything you do pays you just a little. You need 10,000 points to cash out for just 3 dollars (via PayPal).

Next:

Evidation is a health-related app that rewards you for walking. It connects to your Smart Watch or phone.

They also offer high-quality, short surveys as a way of garnering extra points. 10,000 points gets you $10, payable to Paypal, a gift card or your bank. Like most other apps or programs I’m covering on this blog, Evidation isn’t going to make me rich. What it is doing is steering me away from my constant, pointless use of social media. The other day I had a few minutes while waiting in my (parked)car, and I popped onto Evidation. I took a survey for two minutes about my journey with my weight. I earned 200 points which, if I’m doing my math right, is 20 cents. That is better than no cents, especially when I found the topic timely and interesting.

WeWards

WeWards lacks Evidation’s clean interface. It appears to be made for children. Its goal is similar to Evidation in that it rewards you for walking. 1000 points are needed for a $10 payout to PayPal.

I’m on track to possibly earn $100 total with all three of these apps. That’s if I keep up my walking habit and occasionally do a survey or answer some trivia. On the one hand sure, it’s a paltry amount but on the other, a hundred extra bucks during the holiday season will be welcome.
